Connecting People with Nature, One Garden at a Time
The Explore Public Gardens project celebrates Connecticut’s public gardens. Big and small, functional and beautiful.
By harnessing community-sourced data, we help people discover, share, and protect these vital green spaces. Together, we’re growing awareness, deepening engagement, and cultivating a vibrant community.
Your CT Garden Collaborative shares information about CT public gardens through an open data table (link is shared below) - and through a mobile application called "Explore Public Gardens".
There's no question... People have better physical, social, and emotional health when they have access to beautiful outdoor spaces. The importance of community experiences in physical 3-D spaces drives our commitment to share garden information with you and your neighbors. This can strengthen social ties, local awareness, physical wellbeing, and community pride.
Note - the CTGC mobile application called "Explore Public Gardens" launched in a beta form in the fall of 2024 on the Apple and Android app stores for free. Without some basic financial and volunteer support to maintain the app, it is temporarily unavailable. We look forward to making it available again on the "app stores" in the future. To support this work and the CTGC, we invite you to donate today!
